In this lesson see how the “Charge to Full Now” battery management feature works in macOS. If you have a MacBook that remains connected to power most of the time macOS will prevent the battery from charging past 80% to maintain optimal battery health. In this lesson, we look at how to tell the MacBook to charge fully and how the feature can be deactivated in the Battery System Preference Pane. Learn more about all Mac System Preferences in our macOS Core Concepts Tutorial.

In this buying guide video learn about the current (Mid 2019) MacBook Pro lineup. The video covers the current models of the 13 inch and 15 inch MacBook Pros that are for sale from Apple. We use the comparison page on Apple.com to view the differences between the three models. Below you will find links to discounted MacBook Pros on Amazon, RefurbMe and Adorama. I’m also including links to a few different USB-C to USB-3 adapters, USB-C Displays and and other MacBook Pro accessories.
When traveling with my MacBook Pro I always put it in a cushioned sleeve. This makes it easy to place into another bag or carry under my arm. These sleeves provide protection and extra pockets for chargers or cords.
All current MacBook Pros only come with 2 or 4 USB-C ports. If you use peripherals with older USB or other connections you need adapters or a hub! USB-C Adapters on Amazon. A must have for new MacBook & MacBook Pros that only have USB-C ports. Small and cheap!
USB-C Hubs. I like these 2 hubs because they provide a USB-C in port that can charge the MacBook Pro as well!
It’s easy to attach a display to any Macbook Pro to expand the amount of screen area you have to work with or close the lid of your MacBook Pro and work only on the external display. I use the LG Ultrafine 5K 27″ display. It’s served me very well for nearly 3 years. Great for viewing and editing photos, not to mention recording video tutorials!
Below are some other USB-C Monitors that will work out of the box with a MacBook Pro released in the last few years…
